System Requirements

Good news: TrackStage runs in your browser. If you can use Gmail or stream a video, you can almost certainly use TrackStage. But for the curious (or the troubleshooting), here's the full picture.

The Quick Version

You'll need:

  • A modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge — updated within the last year or so)
  • A broadband internet connection
  • A computer made in roughly the last 5–7 years

That's it for most people. If you want the details, read on.

Browser

TrackStage works best on the latest version of:

  • Google Chrome — version [XXX] or newer (recommended)
  • Apple Safari — version [XXX] or newer
  • Microsoft Edge — version [XXX] or newer

Not supported: Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera Mini, or any browser more than two major versions behind current.

Browser settings: JavaScript and cookies need to be enabled. If you use an ad-blocker or privacy extension, you may need to whitelist trackstage.io for everything to work properly.

Operating System

  • macOS — [XXX] or newer
  • Windows — [XXX] or newer

Mobile browsers (iOS Safari, Android Chrome) work for viewing and basic tasks, but TrackStage is built for desktop. We recommend a real computer for serious catalog work.

Internet Connection

  • Minimum: [XXX] Mbps download / [XXX] Mbps upload
  • Recommended: [XXX] Mbps download / [XXX] Mbps upload

Audio uploads are the biggest bandwidth event in TrackStage. A 50 MB WAV file on a 10 Mbps upload connection takes about 40 seconds. On 1 Mbps, the same file takes about 7 minutes. If you're uploading a lot, faster is better.

Spotty Wi-Fi can cause uploads to fail mid-transfer. If you're seeing repeated upload failures, try a wired connection or move closer to your router.

Hardware

  • RAM: [XXX] GB minimum, [XXX] GB recommended
  • Screen: 1280×800 minimum, 1440×900 or larger recommended
  • Storage: No local storage required — your tracks live on TrackStage's servers

Audio Files

TrackStage supports the file formats you actually use:

  • Lossless: WAV, AIFF
  • Compressed: MP3

File size limit: [XXX] MB per file. If you're working with longer or higher-resolution files, [advice or workaround].

Sample rate / bit depth: [XXX] supported. Higher-resolution files may be downsampled for streaming previews but the original file is preserved.

TrackSync Desktop App

TrackSync is the optional desktop companion that watches your local folders and syncs files to your TrackStage catalog automatically. If you're using TrackSync, here's what it needs:

  • macOS: [XXX] or newer
  • Windows: [XXX] or newer
  • Disk space: [XXX] for the app itself, plus space for your watched folders
  • Permissions: Folder access permissions when prompted (macOS users will see a system dialog)

TrackSync runs quietly in the background and uses minimal system resources when idle.

Pop-up Blockers and Privacy Extensions

A few features rely on browser pop-ups (Send to DISCO, DocuSeal split sheets, file previews, certain dialogs). If something isn't opening when you click it, your pop-up blocker may be the culprit. Whitelist trackstage.io in your blocker settings and you should be good.

Seeing a Browser Warning at Login?

If you've signed in and we've shown you a notice that your browser isn't fully supported, it means TrackStage detected a version that's too old or a browser we don't officially support. The app may still work, but you may run into bugs we can't fix.

The fix is usually quick: update your browser to the latest version, or switch to one of the supported browsers listed above. Your account and data are completely unaffected.

Still Having Trouble?

If TrackStage isn't behaving and you've checked the boxes above, the hamsters can help. Email support@trackstage.io with:

  • Your browser name and version (you can find this at whatsmybrowser.org)
  • Your operating system
  • What you were trying to do when it went sideways
  • A screenshot if you've got one

We'll get you sorted.
