The OPPORTUNITIES Tab
The OPPORTUNITIES Tab is where you really zero in on the right fit for your music. Opportunities can be:
- Movies in pre-production
- TV shows
- Products with Advertising Agencies
- Corporate Events
- Influencer Videos
- Briefs
- Any project you find out about that could use music
Different TARGETS, Different Fields
As different TARGET Types would offer different opportunities, the OPPORTUNITY Tab will change the types of information available to add and edit according to the Type of the TARGET.- Music Supervisors
- Libraries
- Publishers
- Licensing and Sync Agencies
- Production Companies
- Pay-to-Play Services
OPPORTUNITY Tab Fields
- Title (ALL Types)
The name you give to the Opportunity so you can recognize it in a list. (e.g., “New Marvel Movie”, “Jazz Piano Solos for Boutique Library”, etc.) - Status (ALL Types)
This is the current status of the Opportunity. This allows you to maintain a listing of all the opportunities that have arisen through this TARGET, including ones that have long since closed.
- Pending
Opportunities that are currently open that you have not yet pitched to. - Pitched
Opportunities that you have pitched to. - Closed
Opportunities that have expired or you have opted not to pitch to.
- Pending
- Description (ALL Types)
The description of the opportunity. The more descriptive words you can put in here the better the Pitch Wizard will be able to match the tracks in your CATALOG. - Genre(s) (ALL Types)
The genre(s) that this current opportunity would work for. The Pitch Wizard will match this field with tracks in your CATALOG with the same genres. - Industry Segment (ALL Types EXCEPT Publishers)
Film, TV, Commercials, Streaming, Games, MicroLicensing, Corporate, Various and Other. If you have put these words into your keywords of your CATALOG tracks, the Pitch Wizard will match to them. - Production Stage (Music Supervisors & Production Companies)
This helps you determine how close to completion the project is so you know when it is the most opportune time to submit a pitch and when it has closed. - Deadline (ALL Types EXCEPT Publishers)
If there is a hard fast deadline for submission, this is where you would put it, so you don’t waste your (and the Target’s!) time by submitting to a closed opportunity. - Production/Project (Music Supervisors & Production Companies)
The name of the show, product, project, if you have it. - Company/Studio/Agency (Music Supervisors)
The company who would be licensing your track, if you have it. - IMdB Link (Music Supervisors & Production Companies)
The IMdB link to the project. This can be helpful to research other composers on the project to get a feel for the type of music they are using, find any common connections with the production team, as well as to get an overall feel for the show. - Reference # (Pay-to-Play)
For Pay-to-Play services only. Recording the Reference number can keep you from duplicating submissions of the same track if the Target is looking for something different.
